Wisdom Strawberry #4: Common sense says the Earth is flat
In 1610 Galileo Galilei discovered that the Earth is round, not flat, as was believed by everyone at the time.
Galileo wasn’t the first man to discover this fact, but he was the first one to publicly proclaim it. For his good work, he was severely persecuted and criticized, and even threatened with torture.
Don’t believe or do things just because everybody else does.
Common belief says David cannot kill Goliath. Common belief says working an 8 to 5 job is just the way it is. Common belief says all objects are governed by the laws of physics.
Common beliefs based on nothing more than the fact that everybody else believes them, is a self-imposed prison of thoughts, dreams and life.
Common sense is the collection of prejudice obtained by age eighteen.
Some things are impossible, because they really are impossible. Some things are impossible, only because we believe them to be.
Free your mind.
