Wisdom Strawberry #7: Your design

If you drive a car into a wall, you will damage it. Cars were not designed to be driven into walls. If you use a spoon to cut up an apple, you will have a big mess of apple. Spoons were not designed to cut up apples.

God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.Genesis 1:27

You were created in the image of God.

You were designed to be a man or woman of God.

The way to be happy, is to live the way you were designed to live. Living any other way will only frustrate you, hurt you and damage you.

You already want it

God created you with your desires. He implanted the things you truly want into your heart. You already know what they are. They’re the deepest desires you have.

A musician must make music, and artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.Abraham Maslow

The problem is that we get confused. We have a sinful nature. Our sinful nature tries to overwhelm and hide our true desires – what we were created for – by covering them up with Earthly substitutes, that have little meaning.

To live the life that we were designed for, we must learn to look past our simple Earthly desires, and instead allow ourselves to be driven by desires God placed in our hearts when He originally designed us.

What are the true desires of your heart?

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.David, son of Jesse (Psalm 37:4)

    Hi Fran
Good article, but gay people might find it offensive if read incorrectly :-)

    Hi Francois

This article is great and the truth. I’ve read it a few times but dont get Johan’s point. Well, anyway if it gay people find it offencive so wil murderers, fornicators and even I, because all of us tend to sin.

God hate sin but loves us and His heart is that we act as Sons and daughters created in His image and according to His nature.

    @Johan

Hmmm… if you say so. :)

This post is nothing but the God’s honest truth of life. You can’t dance around it, you can’t believe anything other than this.

I understand what Johan is saying, BUT if gay people believe in God and believe in His word, then they should realize that their lifestyle is sin. That does not mean that God doesn’t love them – He does. God hates SIN not the sinner. He loves us all no matter what. I’m not saying that I hate gay people either. I don’t. One of my friends I went to school with is gay. He is a great person. What people do with their life is their business. Who am I to judge anyone. They have to answer to God for that. I have to answer for the things I do.

ANYWAY, Francois is right. We all have a purpose here on earth. God will and does give us the desires of our heart if we delight ourselves in HIM.

    Great post.
