Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
I received an email a few days ago, from a company asking if they could advertise on Liberta.
I replied asking what exactly it was that they wanted to advertise. This is the response I got:
Most of our customers are making ends meet on a small budget and require short-term loans, and may not even qualify for more traditional loans. I appreciate that your stance on our industry may be negative, but assure you that we are not out to editorialize or sway you in any way. To be frank, even a post about reasons to avoid payday loans would probably prove beneficial, while of course not vilifying our company in any way.
Now I want to make it clear that the only reason I’m not going to directly vilify this company with this post, is because I don’t want to even mention the company’s name, in the fear that some of the readers of this site may go look them up.
But that’s not going to stop me from vilifying their industry as a whole. In-fact, allow me to just go ahead and puke on it.
These companies are making their money out of people who are struggling to make ends meet, by luring them into making debt they cannot afford, with the aim of trapping them with debt, like a pimp traps the woman who work for him, by supplying them with drugs.
I will not use this website to advertise for companies like that. Their sweet talk and nice wording make me sick. They really are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
I will also add that I am very disappointed to see that some of the personal finance blogs I’ve come across, that otherwise contain very valuable information, do already advertise for this very same company!
Here is a puke on them too: Get your priorities straight, and have some integrity dammit! Remove that filth from you websites!

I got a couple of those too. I told them where they could put there advertising. Its more important to have integrity than their 2 cents of dirty money anyway.
